The victim of yesterday’s fatal fire in Armstrong County was a 16-year-old Shelocta boy. State police say his identity is being withheld for now pending the autopsy results.
The teen, who was reportedly a student at Lenape Vo-Tech, died when fire struck a shed in which he was sleeping. The shed on the property along Oak Hill Road in South Bend Township had heat and electricity.
Authorities say the fire began between 11:30 PM and 2:30 AM, when the victim’s parents awoke to find the shed in flames. There are no signs of foul play and the cause and source of the fire are under investigation by a state police fire marshal.
