Indiana Borough police have arrested an Indiana man for a Christmas Eve burglary at a business in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street. Police have not named the specific business, but they say Mark Hower is facing felony charges of burglary and theft and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief. The break-in happened at about 5 o’clock Sunday morning. Hower is accused of damaging two doors and stealing approximately $4,000.
Hower, who will turn 51 years old tomorrow, is being held at the Indiana County Jail with bond set at $25,000 and a preliminary hearing set for January 4th.
Borough police have released a batch of drug reports, including charges by citation against an Indiana woman for a July 26th incident in the 1300 block of Oakland Avenue. Police say 22-year-old Victoria Brosch had both LSD and marijuana on her. She’s been charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession of both a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
31-year-old David Holbein of Rural Valley has been charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. Police say he had the drugs while in the 1400 block of Oakland Avenue on November 3rd.
20-year-old Joshua Stasik of Pittsburgh is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and of drug paraphernalia, plus underage drinking. He is also charged with traffic offenses for a stop in the 400 block of Philadelphia Street on December 4th.
