Frank Joseph Lukcik, 87, of Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away peacefully on December 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
The son of Martin and Maria (Sedmak) Lukcik, he was born January 6, 1930 in Blacklick Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
Frank attended grade school at Mahan School in Blacklick Twp. and secondary school in the Blairsville School District.
He served in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. He was employed by Westinghouse Specialty Metals Plant, Blairsville, from 1956 to 1994.
Frank was a former member of St. Francis Church, Coral, and most recently the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent.
He enjoyed spending his free time with his family, gardening, working outdoors and golfing.
He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his daughter, Jean F. (Lukcik) Zadeh and husband, Parviz Zadeh of Hampton, VA; son, Mark D. Lukcik and wife, Robin (Howard) Lukcik of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Justin M. Lukcik and fiancée, Halee Reasor and Amber Lukcik; three sisters, Mary Colench and Fran Davis, both of Blairsville and Ann Orlando of Shrewsbury, NJ; brother, John R. Lukcik of Blairsville and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Deloris (Corey) Lukcik whom he married June 15, 1957 and passed away on December 20, 2005; sister, Kay Voiku and two brothers, Andrew Lukcik and Steve Dulovic.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, PA.
Interment will be SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
A special thank you to the visiting nurses, therapists and many healthcare aides from Anew Home Health Agency.
Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post#5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Box 99, Kent, PA, Indiana County Humane Society, 191 Airport Road, Indiana, or to a charity of your choice.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
