The White Township Supervisors passed their budget last night.
There is no change to the taxes for Township Residents, with income expected to be $7,622,849 and expenditures at $7,899,903. Township manager Milt Lady said the difference will be made up using the township’s cash reserves.
Also last night, the Indiana Parks and Recreation commission was discussed briefly as Supervisor George Lenz requested a resolution to support the commission. It had been brought up recently at the Indiana School Board meeting, as the board has asked their finance committee and their academic and extra-curricular activity committee to discuss possibly leaving the commission. The commission is made up of members from White Township, the School District and Indiana Borough.
In other business, the township received a request from PennDOT concerning the Route 110 Bridge near Wider Road Intersection. Lady said that PennDOT requested a temporary easement in the area for a bridge replacement project. As the request was received that day, the supervisors voted to table granting the request until the township’s solicitor can take a further look at the request.
And finally, the township supervisors approved the purchase of a new ice surfacing machine for the S&T Bank Arena at a cost of $118,354, plus another $2500 for training.
