An Indiana woman has been charged with simple assault in a domestic incident. 39-year-old Monica Marie Newhouse was involved in a verbal argument on December 18th with an un-named 44-year-old Indiana Man at a home on Lower Twolick Drive, when she started to hit the man multiple times in the face. She also threw items at him as he took cover in the bathroom to call 911. Newhouse continued to wreck the house until the State Troopers showed up. Newhouse was arrested on a charge of simple assault and was taken to Indiana County Jail.
State Police are looking for information on a case of theft of drugs from a car in East Wheatfield Township. Police say sometime between 10:00 PM on December 17th and 3 PM on the 18th, an unknown person was able to break into a vehicle belonging to John Sims of Armagh and stole suboxone strips. The investigation continues.
No one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash in Cherryhill township on Monday morning. State Police say around 10:58 AM, 55-year-old Timothy Slippy of Indiana was going North on Route 403 when for an unknown reason, the front tire came loose from his car. Slippy was able to maneuver his car off the road safely.
The two drivers involved in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a plow truck were not injured in a crash in Homer City Borough. Derek Miller of Punxsutawney was behind the wheel of the plow truck, and Richard Wachob was driving a tractor-trailer and the two were side by side on Route 119 just north of the intersection with Route 56. The plow blade on Miller’s vehicle was slightly over the center line and struck the driver’s side mirror of the tractor-trailer driven by Wachob.
