Indiana’s mayor was sworn into office for his sixth term this afternoon.
At the Indiana Borough Chambers, George Hood took the oath of office for Indiana Borough Mayor for a sixth time. Performing the honors to swear in Mayor Hood was Justice Debra Todd of the State Supreme Court, who is a longtime friend of the Mayor’s. Todd met Mayor Hood while she was campaigning at the County Fair twenty years ago, and the two have remained in contact since then.
Mayor Hood said that one of the issues that he wants to focus on over the next four years is the financing of the borough. He said that with the cost of materials and contracts going up, the borough will need to think of some ways to get funding. That may include funding from the State System of Higher Education or the government of Pennsylvania.
