IRMC’s Auxiliary along with the hospital’s administration and volunteers honored a longtime director of volunteer services by renaming the program in her name.
The program has been re-named “Volunteer Services at IRMC—Marge’s Mission” in honor of Marge Scheeren, who started volunteering at IRMC in 1961 and served on IRMC’s Auxiliary as the director of volunteer services in 1975, and would hold that post for 42 years. Scheeren passed away in May of this year.

IRMC’s Auxiliary has also started the Marge Scheeren Volunteer Service Award to recognize volunteers who exemplify compassion and commitment for serving others through volunteering at IRMC. Their name will go on a plaque, which will be given a prominent place in IRMC’s lobby.
