State police have issued a number of reports on accidents on Indiana County roadways, including one at about 8:35 yesterday morning in Black Lick Township. A driver whom police do not identify became distracted when her dog jumped onto her lap as she pulled out from her home and drove on Yankee Hill Road near Thompson Road in Black Lick Township. Police say the woman’s pickup truck hit a utility pole on her property.
Shortly after 5 PM, 19-year-old Morgan Truitt of Homer City lost control of her vehicle, dropping off Route 954 in Center Township twice, going up an embankment and back down, re-entering the highway and hitting a vehicle coming the other way. The other driver, Lisa Miller of New Florence, suffered an injury of unknown severity. Truitt was not hurt.
One of the drivers was injured in an accident November 29th on Oakland Avenue at the Route 422 ramp in White Township. State police say 85-year-old Bob Curey of Indiana suffered minor injuries when he tried to make a left turn on a blinking yellow light, crossing into the path of a car driven by 49-year-old Daniel Bekina of Homer City, who had a steady green light Bekina swerved but could not avoid a collision.
