Work is nearing completion on IUP’s new Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement, and the university has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony for next month.
The Center, located in Elkin Hall, will be the new home of the Center for Student Life, which is currently in Pratt Hall, and the African American Cultural Center, which is currently in Delaney Hall. Four offices will work out of the new venue: the offices of Multicultural Affairs and Student Success, Student Leadership and New Student Success, Greek Life and Student Engagement, and Program Coordination, Communication, and Assessment
Elkin Hall has been closed since the end of the 2015 academic year. The Center for Multicultural Student Leadership and Engagement will occupy the first floor. IUP has not announced specific plans for the rest of the building. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for January 26th at 10 AM in the Center’s first floor atrium.
