Mary I. Hinton Holzworth, age 83, of Hampton, Va., formerly of Indiana, PA, died Monday, December 4, 2017 at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Va.
She was born in 1934 in Indiana to Joseph Franklin and Rose Mae Stitt Hinton.
Mrs. Holzworth was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church where she was formerly active as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, Wednesday night prayer meeting, Jolly Seniors, and worked the bus route for many years. She was a homemaker having lived a short time in West Lebanon and mostly Indiana before moving to VA five years ago. She faithfully attended Bethel Baptist Church in Hampton,
Va.
Mary is survived by her daughter Barbara A Hawkins, Boise City, OK: four sons, Gary L Holzworth and wife Diane, Goldsboro, NC: David E Holzworth and wife Yolanda, Hampton, VA; Randal K Holzworth and wife Ramona, Virginia Beach, VA; Terry L Holzworth, Knoxville, TN; 15 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; a sister Emma Jean Shultz, Indiana, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Holzworth in 1991, her parents, 7 sisters and two brothers.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jack Lucas and Pastor Micah McMillen officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
