Homer-Center students, teachers and community members showed up for a big send-off party.
With the Homer-Center Marching Band playing nearby, the Wildcats boarded the bus for Hershey this morning. Tomorrow, they play in the PIAA State Championships against the Jeanette Jayhawks. The students were joined by their teachers, local officials and members of the community to wish them well. Superintendent Dr. Charles Koren said that the moment today was truly special.
Dakota Sunday, defensive standout for the Wildcats talked about being surrounded by their fans and all the signs and posters. He called it “different, but a good different” to feel the support of the community.
And Indiana County Commissioner Mike Baker, who along with his fellow Commissioners got to talk with the students prior to their departure, said the county is rooting for them.
