Two men who face several drug charges related to an investigation at an Indiana hotel are scheduled for a preliminary hearing today in district court.
40-year-old Shawn Blystone and 28-year-old Taylor Shick face charges in connection with an overdose investigation on September 19th. Police got a call from an employee at the Quality Inn on Wayne Avenue for a possible overdose situation. When police got there, they found Blystone and Schick in possession of illegal narcotics, including 77 wax bags of heroin, a crack pipe, 20 prescribed opioid pills, and some cash.
Blystone faces felony charges of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communications facility, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia. Shick was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Their hearings will be held around 9:00 this morning at District Judge George Thachick’s office.
