Police have issued a number of reports including cases of drug possession, disorderly conduct, an incident of trespassing and underage drinking, a vehicle theft, and vandalism.
Just before 3 AM Sunday morning, Indiana Borough police responded to the 1100 block of Grant Street for a report of trespassing. Upon arrival, police found 20-year-old Hunter Johnson of Lewis Run was refusing to leave an apartment he didn’t live in. Johnson was also under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody, charged with defiant trespassing and underage drinking, and later released.
At 1:47 Sunday morning, borough police arrested Yusuf Stone of Bridgeport for disorderly conduct in the 200 block of South 7th Street. Stone was observed yelling profanities and was taken into custody. Stone was cited for disorderly conduct and later released.
Borough police have issued two reports involving drugs. 32-year-old Danielle McGhen of Indiana has been charged with possession of heroin paraphernalia on Thursday afternoon in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street. McGhen was already facing court action for an October incident in Indiana Borough for which she is charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for that incident on December 13th.
Police say that on Friday night, 24-year-old Ashley Puckett of Armagh had heroin and marijuana on her in the 300 block of Gompers Avenue. She’s charged with possession of a controlled substance, of a small amount of marijuana, and of drug paraphernalia.
Police are seeking information on a stolen vehicle. Shortly before 5:30 on Friday evening, someone stole a red Ford Explorer which had been parked on the south side of the 500 block of Philadelphia Street by the Subway shop. The SUV carries Pennsylvania licence plate JT-3933 and has a “Steelers” sticker in the left corner of the back window. If you have information on the incident, please call police at 349-2121.
Police are also seeking information on an incident at 2 o’clock yesterday morning. Someone kicked in the front door of a home n the 100 block of North 5th Street, damaging both the door and the frame. Again, please call 349-2121 if you have information.
State police say a Punxsutawney man has been charged with simple assault and harassment after a fight at a northern Indiana County bar on November 13th. Police say 35-year-old Adam Means tackled a 46-year-old Rochester Mills man at the Brandon Hotel in Rossiter, knocking the victim down a flight of stairs and causing a lower leg fracture and a laceration to his head.
Police are also investigating an incident at Marion Center High School on Thursday morning. A male student kicked a female student in the ankle, causing her to be injured.
