UPDATE: Penelec crews are still on the scene making repairs to the downed lines and now report that power is expected to be back on at 1:00 PM
Many Penelec customers in the Homer City area are without power this morning for a motor vehicle crash that caused lines to go down in Lucernemines.
According to representatives with Homer City Fire Department who responded to the scene, a coal truck was driving on North 9th Street in Lucernemines when it impacted with a utility pole. The driver is OK, but lines are down and Pennelec crews are currently en route to make repairs.
248 Penelec Customers are affected by the outage. Power is expected to be restored by 9:00 AM
