Indiana Regional Medical Center is hoping their first Giving Tuesday event will be very beneficial to the Teddy Bear Fund Drive.
Giving Tuesday is a movement on the heels of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, but instead of focusing on deals and bargains, Giving Tuesday focuses on philanthropy and charity works. Many different groups over the last seven years have put together their own Giving Tuesday events, and IRMC hopes to do that today.
Heather Reed of Indiana Healthcare Foundation, the fundraising arm of IRMC, said the fundraiser was inspired by all the spending done during the first weekend of the holiday season, and thought it would be nice to focus on what the hospital did for the community and helping it out.
Live now on www.indianarmc.org is a banner for Giving Tuesday. When you’re there, you can fill out the form to make your donation online.
The money raised today by the hospital will go to Renda Broadcasting’s Teddy Bear Fund Drive, which supports IRMC’s Pediatrics and Childrens Hospital of UPMC in Pittsburgh.
