The Pitt Panthers pulled off a stunner of an upset, beating the number-2 ranked Miami, Florida Hurricanes yesterday at Heinz Field 24-14.
Avonte Maddox was the defensive player of the game, as he had four tackles, two pass deflections and forced a fumble on the final play of the game to seal the deal for the Panthers. Pitt QB Kenny Pickett was 18 of 29 for 193 yards and one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns. Pickett also had 13 carries for 60 yards. Qadree Ollison lead the Panther rushing attack with 14 carries for 62 yards as the offense work was evenly divided.
Pitt, spoiling Miami’s undefeated season in the process, finishes the season on a high note at 5-7 and 4th in the ACC-Coastal division.
