West Anderson Reed, Jr., 86, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana, PA.
The son of West Anderson Reed, Sr. and Anna M. (Anderson) Reed, he was born March 22, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA.
West owned Reed’s Sunoco in Latrobe for many years, retiring in October 1996 and owned Reed’s Towing, Blairsville for 50 years.
He lived his entire life in Blairsville and was an avid Blairsville High School sports fan, especially girl’s basketball, following his granddaughter’s basketball career. He also was a life-long fan of area auto racing.
Surviving are his daughter, Mary Ann Boyer and husband, Ricky of Blairsville and granddaughter, Nicole Boyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Blanch M. (Jellison) Reed in 1988.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. There will be no funeral service.
Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
