Fans of the Homer-Center Football team will get the chance to give their team a sendoff today as they head out to the PIAA District 6 championships.
The Homer-Center Wildcats continue their prep for the championships today and will get a special sendoff this afternoon. Homer City Borough officials are asking citizens to line the streets of the school along North Main Street beginning at 1:45 PM. The team is scheduled to leave the school around 2:00 PM with special escort provided by members of the Homer City fire and police departments. Borough Manager Robert Nymick is encouraging fans to bring signs of support and line the streets as the buses leave.
The special escort will take the team up North Main Street to the traffic light at the intersection of Routes 119 and 56. Again, departure time is 2:00 PM.
We’ll have more details on the game itself coming up in sports, and if you can’t make the trip to Altoona, we’ll have the game for you on the air.
