Daniel W. Deemer, 66, of Indiana, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A son of the late Merle L. and Marjorie Lemon Deemer, he was born Oct. 14, 1951, in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Deemer was a graduate of Saltsburg High School, where he was an All-District basketball player. Dan received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and was also a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He was retired from the Conemaugh Generating Station. Dan was a member of the New Life Church, Red Barn Sportsman’s Club and the YMCA. He was an avid Penguins fan and enjoyed lifting weights, playing handball and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Olivia Delfavero Deemer, of Indiana; a son, Joe Deemer and wife Jennifer, of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mary Kay Deemer, of Saltsburg; two grandchildren: Paul and Henry Deemer; numerous cousins and Livvy’s extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Deemer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Life Church with Pastor David Henderson officiating.
