IUP’s communications media department held an open house last Wednesday, showing off improvements to their TV and Radio studio.
The TV facilities were updated with the latest equipment, including green screen technology, new cameras and computers and new set pieces. The radio station also got some new equipment and computer programs as they transfer their music library to a digital format. Gail Wilson, the department chair said the updates to the studios are part of a five-year update plan, where the technology is updated every five years to keep up with current technology.
Sarah Moltz a senior in IUP’s communications department, is impressed with the updates. She works with the sports side of broadcasting, and says that the technology improvements really improves IUP’s abilities for sports broadcasts and the shows they present overall.
