Glenavee “Bud” C. (Henry) Shelton, 94, of Cinnaminson, NJ, and formerly of Cookport, PA, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ.
The daughter of Clarence H. and Ella E. (Lydick) Henry, she was born on February 21, 1923 in Commodore, PA.
Bud was a graduate of the Green Township High School.
She was married to Windsor Gold Shelton, who passed away in 1991.
Prior to her retirement, Bud had worked until the age of eighty-eight years old.
Bud grew up attending the Cookport Baptist Church . Even though she lived out of the state during her adult life, Bud retained an affectionate and warmhearted connection with her childhood church and its parishioners over the years.
Fond of her childhood community, in September Bud returned with her son and daughter-in-law to attend the 100th anniversary of the Cookport Fair and to visit with her hometown area family and friends.
She is survived by her loving son: Jon A. Shelton and wife Michele of Owings, MD and her two brothers: Harold “Jim” Henry and wife, Jan of Cherry Tree, PA and Richard “Robin” Henry and wife, Vicky of Jacksonville, FL.
Bud was preceded in death by her father in 1950; her mother in 1999: her husband; her beloved son, Timothy W. Shelton on February 15, 2017 and her sister, Virginia “Polly” Buterbaugh.
On Wednesday, November 15, 2017 an 11:00 a.m. funeral service was held at the Cinnaminson Baptist Church, 2801 New Albany Road, Cinnaminson, NJ with Pastor David Krivonick of the Cookport Baptist Church serving as the officiant.
A local gathering for family and friends will take place from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Cookport Baptist Church in Cookport, PA, where a 2:00 p.m. funeral service will immediately follow the visitation time. Pastor David Krivonick will officiate. Interment will follow at the East Mahoning Cemetery in Purchase Line, PA.
