The homicide cases against two young men accused of killing a Cherryhill Township couple in October of last year continue to slowly make their way through the court system. Both 20-year-old Justin Stevenson and 19-year-old Nathan Price had hearings scheduled tomorrow on their pretrial motions, but yesterday, Judge Thomas Bianco granted Stevenson a continuance to December 13th for his hearing. Price’s hearing is still listed for tomorrow.
Stevenson and Price are accused of beating to death Timothy Gardner and Jacqueline Brink at the couple’s Hillside Drive apartment outside of Clymer. Investigators say they planned to rob Gardner during a drug deal and ended up beating him with a pipe and killing Brink to keep her quiet. Two children in the home were not harmed. District Attorney Pat Dougherty is seeking the death penalty against Stevenson and Price.
A third defendant originally charged with homicide, 18-year-old Isaiah Scott, had his case transferred to juvenile probation because he was 17 at the time of the killings.
