Charges have been filed against a Connecticut Truck Driver in connection with Monday’s crash on Route 22 in Burrell Township.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by State Police yesterday charges Hunter Robert Geslien of Naugatuck, Connecticut with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia, reckless endangerment, careless driving and other summary crimes. The charges stem from yesterday’s crash at the intersection of Route 22 and Resort Drive near Blairsville. The crash happened as the tractor trailer hauling scrap metal tried to turn left off Route 22 and onto Resort Drive when the truck fishtailed and rolled over, impacting four other cars. In the affidavit, troopers said that when they were investigating, they found that Geslien was showing signs of impairment. Police searched the truck and found a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe. Geslien also admitted to police that he used heroin and marijuana before the crash. Geslien was taken into police custody and brought to Indiana Regional Medical Center for a blood test.
He is now in Indiana County Jail as he was unable to post $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for November 22nd at 11:00 AM in front of District Judge Jennifer Rega.
