Today is the annual Veteran’s Day parade in Downtown Indiana, and as such there will be some road closures in effect.
The parade is expected to take the traditional route from 5th Street to 9th Street, so expect road closures on the east end of Philadelphia Street, but those closures may extend past where they have been in the past. As the Experimental Aircraft Association will bring Jimmy Stewart’s personal Cessna Airplane down the parade route, there will be some parking restrictions in place to make sure there is enough room for the plane to come down the route safely. Parking restrictions were put in place yesterday, and those restrictions will go into effect today on the eastern end of Philadelphia Street.
Expect road closures on the eastern end of Philadelphia street and surrounding streets to be utilized as a staging area, and for Philadelphia Street at 9th street to be closed off for the parade route later this morning. The parade starts at 10:30, and will pause at 11:00 to pay tribute to those veterans who have died serving our country.
