Harry E. Schloder, Sr., 75, of Indiana, formerly of Ernest, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at Beacon Ridge.
A son of the late James L. and Nellie Moody Schloder, he was born June 28, 1942, in Indiana.
Mr. Schloder was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Homer City. He had been employed by Metals Forming of Indiana, where he was a machinist. He had also been a custodian at Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer, and manager of Satterlee’s Keystone gas station. Mr. Schloder enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita Pizer Schloder, of Indiana; two children: Rev. Harry E. Schloder, Jr. and wife Pam, of Peckville; and David W. Schloder and wife Kimberly, of Homer City; a sister, Donna Holly Krouse, of Homer City; four grandchildren: Chandler Schloder, Carson Schloder, Lauren Schloder and David Joseph “DJ” Raymond Schloder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: James Schloder and David Wayne Schloder; and a sister, Shirley Schloder.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., with Pastor Chuck Lockard officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
