SIMKO, DEBORAH L. (THOMAS), 60 OF TORRANCE, PA
passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 04, 2017. She was born September 01, 1957 Latrobe, PA, she was the loving daughter of Helen (Peterson) McClarren and the late J. Quentin Thomas. Debbie was an active member of the Torrance United Methodist Church. She was a 1975 graduate of Derry Area, then went on to receive an Associates Degree from Duff’s Business School in Pittsburgh. She had worked for attorneys Ron Saffron and Paul Bell in Blairsville. As a Kennametal employee for 14 years, she had fond memories of her many friends, especially her supervisor, Louise Brindle. Later, Debby was the co-owner/operator of This, That & More Resale Shoppe in Blairsville. She loved all the friendships she made in high school, her working career and those who continued to follow her on Facebook. She is survived by her mother, Helen (Peterson) McClarren, loving husband & wonderful caregiver, Norm Simko of Torrance, PA; son, Nathan Simko of Torrance, PA; daughter, Natalie Simko & boyfriend, Mike McFarland of Blairsville, PA; brothers, Robert & Richard Thomas of Derry, PA; sister, Arlene Jones of Torrance, PA; nieces & nephews: John & Christie Sever & their children Isabelle & Emily, Clint & Kim Taylor & their children Dylan & Max, Katie Thomas, Michael & Jackie Thomas & their child Michaela, Steve & Julie Errickson & their children John, Emma, Josh & Lucy and many other Nieces & Nephews; brothers & sister-in-laws: Sandy Thomas, Nicholas Simko & Russ & Karen Errickson
and of’course the family dog & cats. Debbie cherished her special friends, Patty Weimer, Mary Ann & Bill Bird & Jim & Brenda Perry and long-time friends Jim and Linda Meloy, Duane and Mary Lou Bracken and Walt & Shirley Gill. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Kenneth Thomas and sister-in-law, Jane Thomas. The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Monday, November 06, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. There will be a funeral service in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 07, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Her cousin Rev. Craig Peterson will officiate. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania. The Family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Arnold Palmer Cancer Center, Excela Health and hospice nurses for their loving care and compassion.
