The report card is in on Indiana County’s schools. The state Department of Education has released the academic performance scores for every building in every district. Overall, the county’s schools get about a C+.
The academic performance figures are based on English, Math, and Science testing, and also includes SAT and ACT scores, graduation and attendance rates, and growth or regression in performance from previous testing.
The top five scores for Indiana County are the East Pike Elementary School (84.7), Horace Mann Elementary (81.6), Indiana Senior High (81.2), McCreery Elementary (79.0), and Marion Center High School (77.9).
The five lowest scores are for United Elementary School (68.6), Purchase Line High School (67.5), Blairsville Senior High School (65.1), Saltsburg High School (62.1), and the lowest scoring building in the county, Blairsville Middle School (54.6).
