Equipment failure was to blame for an outage that hit over 400 Penelec customers yesterday.
Scott Surgeoner of Penelec reported that the outage hit the Homer City area. The outage brought out crews from Homer City Fire and Police Departments to control traffic at the intersection of Routes 119 and 56, as that traffic light went out. The Coral-Graceton and Brush Valley fire departments were called in to stand by.
Power was restored to the area within three hours.
