While many communities celebrated Halloween and held Trick-or-treat activities over the weekend, more are celebrating today as trick-or-treating will go on tonight.
Tonight, residents in Homer City, Center Township, Cherryhill Township, Marion Center, Indiana Borough and White Township will see trick-or-treaters out and about this evening. Marion Center’s trick or treat starts at 5:00 and runs until 7:00 PM. For Cherryhill Township, trick or treating runs from 5:30 to 7:30 PM tonight. In Homer City, the Annual Halloween Parade steps off at 5:30 at the old Laundromat site and will follow its normal route. Trick or treating will continue in Homer City until 8:00 PM. Center Township, Indiana Borough and White Township residents will have trick-or-treating from 6-8 tonight.
As these trick-or-treat times are in the evening and night, drivers are asked to pay extra attention for youngsters when going through residential areas, as they may not be paying close attention to their surroundings. Also, do not drink and drive, as that would exponentially increase the chance of someone getting hurt tonight.
If you plan on taking part in trick-or-treating, make sure your porch light is lit, so that people know to go to your place. Kids are asked to trick-or-treat with an adult or in small groups, as there is safety in numbers. Finally, parents should check their kid’s candy haul when they get home for any suspicious packages. If it’s been opened or looks suspicious, throw it out.
