Phil Kessel scored 42 seconds into overtime to give the Penguins a 2-1 victory against the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night at PPG Paints Arena.
The game was scoreless until Ian Cole scored for the Penguins with 16:36 left in the third period. The Oilers answered with a goal by Connor McDavid with just 2:53 remaining in regulation.
Matt Murray stopped 29 of 30 shots.
The Penguins improved to 6-3-1 and dropped Edmonton to 2-5-1.
