Jennie Morandi, age 88 of Indiana, died Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Communities of Indian Haven, Indiana.
She was born in 1928 in Homer City to Alfredo and Mary Venazza DeMiro.
Mrs. Morandi was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxiliary Post #1989 of the VFW, where she helped to landscape and beautify the golf course with flowers and trees, and initiated the placement of the VFW letters on the hillside. She was also an instructor for the junior bowlers during the 80’s and 90’s at Mohawk Lanes. During the 70’s, she was a member of the Indiana Hospital Auxiliary and co-chaired the Charity Ball. Jennie was also selected for the Aging Services Senior Hall of Fame in 2014.
Jennie loved and supported her children, grandchildren and friends and enjoyed golf, bowling and flower gardening. She was also an avid fan of the Pirates and Steelers.
She is survived by two daughters and one son: Joy Behr and husband Steve, Indiana; Carol Morandi-Delimpo and husband David, Indiana; Dr. Neil Morandi and wife Santa, West Palm Beach, FL; two grandsons: Dr. Bradley Behr and Andrew Morandi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Neil Morandi in 2009, and the following siblings: Theresa Barris, Dominic Poletto, and Mary Brilhart.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 P.M. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery.
