Behind a shutout from freshman goalkeeper Madeline Smakulski and an early goal by sophomore McKenna Keffel, IUP women’s soccer upset No. 2-ranked Kutztown 1-0 in a road match on Sunday afternoon. It’s Kutztown’s first loss of the season and is believed to be the highest ranked opponent IUP has defeated in the 24-year history of the program. IUP has won 5 straight and is 9-4 overall, 8-4 in the PSAC. Smakukslki has saved 25 straight shots and hasn’t allowed a goal since August 31.
