The new District 6 football standings show Ligonier Valley holding at first place in Class AA and Homer Center in second in Class A with two weeks left in the regular season.
The 8-0 Rams lead undefeated Bellwood Antis by just 30 points, with Ligonier Valley taking on 5-win Class A Purchase Line this week and Bellwood hosting 7-1 third place Class AA Southern Huntingdon on Friday. The Rockets are followed by Bishop McCort, Mount Union, Cambria Heights, Westmont Hilltop, and West Shamokin, still holding on to the 8th and final playoff spot. Richland is right behind the Wolves, though, with West Shamokin traveling to Northern Cambria on Friday.
In Class A, 8-0 Bishop Guilfoyle has a 230-point lead in the standings over 7-1 Homer Center, with Portage in third, Ferndale 4th, and Juniata Valley 5th. Then come four Heritage Conference schools, Purchase Line, Northern Cambria, Penns Manor, and United in the 6-through-9 spots, followed by Claysburg-Kimmel, Glendale, and Blacklick Valley in the playoff slots. Blacklick Valley is only 2-6 but still holding a spot.
