PennDOT has issued a couple of travel advisories for Indiana County roadways.
Beginning today, around-the-clock single-lane alternating traffic will be in effect, controlled by flaggers on Route 217 in Blacklick Township, where a bridge carrying Route 217 over Stewart Run is being replaced by a box culvert. The $3 million project also includes a realignment of the highway at the intersection of Route 217 and Grange Road. The travel restrictions will last through tomorrow evening between Hill Road and Ferguson Road, and after it’s over, drivers will use the new road configuration.
Starting on Monday, the traffic patterns will change in both directions on Route 22 between Jonnet Road and Dixon Street in Blairsville, where the rehabilitation of a bridge is taking place. Traffic will use one lane in each direction, and the Route 217 ramp will remain closed on the westbound side of 22.
The $4.65 million Blairsville Truss Project over the Conemaugh River, Route 217, and the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.
