State police had to chase down a man on foot yesterday afternoon and when they caught him, they found suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia on him.
Police were called to the Park Inn on Wayne Avenue for a reported suspicious vehicle, but when they got there, the vehicle had left. It was later located in the area of the Westgate Terrace apartments, but when s state trooper attempted to detain the defendant inside the car, he ran away. Troopers gave chase and finally caught up to him near the Burger King restaurant.
34-year-old Nicholas Michael Horchak of Penn Run was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and several drug offenses. After his arraignment, he was taken to the Indiana County Jail.
