Carole L. Neese, 77, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2107, at her residence.
A daughter of the late Bernard Q. and Merva Sherrick Cunningham, she was born Aug. 18, 1940, in Indiana.
Mrs. Neese attended the Keith School and Indiana State Teachers College, where she earned a degree in Home Economic Education. She was a caseworker for foster families and a homemaker. Her profession was much more than a job to her, as she truly cared about her foster families and was always looking after them. Mrs. Neese was a member of the Indiana B.P.O.E. Lodge 931 and the Ladies Auxiliary, Indiana Moose, Indiana Eagles, and the Indian Springs Golf club. She enjoyed her Facebook time, playing cards, playing Mahjong, bowling, traveling, cruising to exotic destinations, working crossword puzzles, feeding and watching the birds, spending time at the beach and spoiling her pets. Carole loved being with her children and grandchildren, watching her grandson racing his go-carts and attending all the activities for her grandchildren.
She is survived by two children: Julie Filiberti and husband David, of Fairfax, Vt.; Anthony “Tony” Neese and wife Michele, of Indiana; a step daughter, Mary Clements and husband Frank, of Pittsburgh; a sister, Diane Fako and husband Dan, of Indiana; four grandchildren: Hannah Filiberti, Emily Filiberti, Ryan Neese and Lexi Neese; two step grandchildren: Christopher Clements and Kathleen Medina; a step great-grandchild, Charlie Medina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Neese.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to Four Footed Friends, 220 Beck Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
