State Police are investigating a burglary in Derry Township where the burglars utilized a distraction scheme to pull off the theft.
Police say that the two suspects went to the home of Betty Kubistk of Latrobe and said they worked for the electric company. Kubistk allowed one of the suspects to enter her home and she went with them into the basement. While the two were downstairs, the other suspect entered the home and stole cash. Police say the first suspect was described as a white man with a thin build and short brown hair, a brown beard that went down to his adam’s apple, no top front teeth, and stud earrings in both of his ears. He was seen wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans. Police did not get a description of the second suspect. The vehicle the thieves were using was described as a dark grey newer-model Dodge Ram four door pickup truck with side window rain guards.
