The Indiana Area School Board is scheduled to meet tonight, and one of the top items they will be dealing with is the refinancing of almost $10 million in bonds. The board hopes to re-fund two bonds, from 2012 and 2013, with an internet auction. It’s expected the school district will save at least $125,000 with today’s rates.
There are also a number of personnel items on the agenda, including the naming of a new principal at Ben Franklin Elementary School, a new teacher at Horace Mann Elementary, and an amended Athletic Director Agreement.
Purchase Line’s school board meets tonight as well. Based on last week’s work session agenda, there will be a number of personnel decisions on the table, as well as some building use considerations and an agreement on a required district-wide building and land assessment.
The Armstrong School Board will consider major changes to the field house plans at the new Armstrong High School football stadium. Those changes are mainly to the type of material used, switching from the type of block used in the school building to a less expensive steel-skinned building. The board will also consider spending $40,000 on preliminary engineering for the installation of field turf at the West Shamokin High School football stadium.
