It was a rough Saturday on Indiana County roadways, with a number of accidents pending full reports.
There were two crashes within minutes of each other just after 4 PM on Route 119 in Rayne Township. One happened at 4:02 and another at 4:08, and a helicopter landing zone had to be set up. Marion Center firefighters were summoned.
Another landing zone was set up along Laurel Road in Armstrong Township at 5:25 PM. The nature of that call is not available.
At 5:47 PM, Clymer firefighters were dispatched for an accident along Route 286 in Cherryhill Township.
Shortly after 7 PM, Indiana firefighters were called for wires down on Gates Avenue in White Township.
State police report two people injured last Sunday in a crash on Route 286 in Montgomery Township. Police say 73-year-old Rudolph Walls and 68-year-old Michalene Walls of Commodore suffered suspected minor injuries in a collision with a car driven by 19-year-old Tyra Frantz of Cherry Tree. Frantz was cited for improperly entering or crossing a roadway.
State police say no one was injured Thursday evening in a two-car accident on Route 422 in Armstrong Township, just south of Cheese Run Road. 20-year-old Austin Miller of Gibsonia was driving eastbound when he had to stop for another accident in front of him. 20-year-old Roshaun Cooley of Williamsport failed to see Miller’s vehicle and rear-ended him.
