State Police have issued an update on the recent drug sweep in Indiana County that involved 21 people charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Since the news first broke on October 4th, State Police have served 17 warrants of the 35 that were issued to a list of 21 people who have been accused of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Police have also made three additional arrests, and have seized 5 and a half bricks worth of heroin, a small amount of crack cocaine and three guns. Police have not yet released the names of the individuals who were arrested.
Earlier in the week, State Police announced the that seven suspects on that list of 21 were arrested in the sweep, and four others were already in jail on un-related matters. The investigation involved drug buys by state troopers working undercover, along with the use of informants and other sources of information.
