A new Walkworks route will open today in the Clymer area.
At 9:00 this morning, the Indiana County Walkworks program will kick off their new walking route in Clymer Borough. The three-mile trail starts behind the little league field near the Penn Street Bridge, and like the other Walkworks trails, it will include a collection of natural and cultural points of interest. As part of today’s kickoff festivities, Indiana County Commissioner Sherene Hess will join the group to give a speech on the importance of bringing communities together around healthy, active lifestyles. A limited number of Walkworks T-Shirts will also be handed out.
Walkworks is a collaboration between Indiana County’s Office of Planning and Development, the PA Department of Health, and Pitt’s Graduate School of Public Health to increase physical activity opportunities across the county. The event is free and open to the public.
