John Earl Peace, 81, of Avonmore, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital.
A son of the late John Earl and Margaret Fisher Peace, he was born April 18, 1936.
John attended the Summit Church and was an avid reader of the Bible. He worked for R&P Coal Company as a miner and was a member of the UMWA. John enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, watching westerns and working on old cars.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Ann Oswalt Peace; two children: Margaret Peternay and husband Thomas, of Shelocta; and John Peace and fiancé Lori, of Avonmore; five grandchildren: Steve, Scott, Bobby, Chad, and Stacy; numerous great grandchildren; one brother, Charles E. Peace and wife Loraine, of Saltsburg: one sister: Mary Trail, of Johnstown: and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Lee Peace; and one sister, Nancy Jean Hinton.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., where a funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Steve Roahdes officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
