Edith (Williams) George, 92, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at her home.
The daughter of Joseph T.C. Williams and Irene (Beard) Williams, she was born May 28, 1925 in Croyle, Cambria Co., PA.
Mrs. George was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, PA.
She worked at Federal Laboratories during World War II, she also worked in the cafeteria at Blairsville Elementary School and Fours Sewing Plant, Blairsville.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas S. (Debbe) George of Blairsville; William E. (Kathy) George of Marietta, OH and David A. (Kimberly) George of Rock Hill, SC and a daughter, Beth Ann (Wesley) George of Blairsville, with whom she resided; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Vaughn Lintner and a brother, William Williams.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Maureen Roth officiating.
Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown, PA.

Pennsylvania is one of fifteen states that does not require any form of identification in order to vote. Meanwhile, eight states require photo ID in order to vote with no exceptions. What should Pennsylvania do?
Keep it the way it is. No ID of any kind required.
Some sort of ID required
Photo ID, with exceptions for religious purposes
Strict photo ID, no exceptions
