Sandra “Sandy” L. (Hankinson) Pugh, 70, of Dixonville, PA died Sunday, September 24, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Village in Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Richard Hankinson and Wilda I. (States) Hankinson Lowman, she was born on August 18, 1947 in Indiana, PA.
For decades, Sandy was an actively involved member of the Dixonville Wesleyan Church.
Sandy married Roland “Red” L. Pugh on August 26, 1965 and they shared over fifty-two years of marriage.
Her working career encompassed time as a self-employed housecleaner; a postal clerk in Dixonville, PA and employment at Sandy’s Corner Convenience in Dixonville, PA.
Some of Sandy’s favorite pastimes were flowering gardening; walking and participating in her grandkids’s activities.
She is survived by her mother, Wilda Lowman of Indiana, PA; her husband, Red Pugh of Dixonville, PA; her two sons: Dave Pugh of Dixonville, PA and Tom Pugh and wife, Tina of Penn Run, PA and her three grandchildren: Malachi; Josiah and Abigail Pugh.
Also surviving are her five sisters: Diana Adams and husband Bob of Indiana, PA; Pat Fetterman and significant other, John Cochran of Home, PA; Bonnie Hinton of Indiana, PA; Judy Fulmer and husband Ed of Decker’s Point, PA and Jean Henry of Barr Slope, PA and her three step siblings: Paul Thomas Lowman and wife, Debbie of Blairsville, PA; Phyllis Leasure and husband, Jim of Cookport, PA and Donald Lowman and wife, Elaine of Apollo, PA.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hankinson and her stepfather, Thomas Lowman.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Dixonville Wesleyan Church in Dixonville, PA, where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Paul Wallace. Interment will follow at the Montgomery Cemetery, Grant Twp., Indiana County, PA.
