A bridge replacement project scheduled to get underway today in Blacklick Township has been postponed one week.
The project would have replaced the bridge that carries Route 217 over Stewart Run and realigned the intersection of Route 217 and Grange Road. The project was scheduled to get underway today, but we received word from PennDOT officials that the contractor, Plum Contracting, delayed the project for a week. A reason for the delay was not announced.
When the project resumes on October 2nd, traffic Route 217 between Hill Road and Ferguson School Road will be reduced to one lane alternating directions with flaggers controlling traffic around the clock. The $3 million bridge replacement project is expected to wrap up in May of 2018.
