Nine of Indiana’s best restaurants that serve pizza were showcased with selections ranging from the traditional cheese and pepperoni pizzas to a bourbon pulled-pork bbq pizza to even a muffaletta pan pizza. Of course, the real winner was ICCAP’s Power Pack Program, which helps feed school children who might not get a hot meal over the weekend during the school year. Jess Gallagher of ICCAP said the program will provide kids with food to take home over the weekend for their parents to cook for them as many kids in Indiana County may only get hot, nutritious meals at school.
It was estimated that 500 people took part in the first annual Slice of Indiana Event, and the “best slice” award went to The Funky Brunch.
