Tonight, pizza lovers will get a chance to sample the best pizza in town and help ICCAP at the same time.
From 5-7 tonight, IRMC park will host the inaugural “Best Slice of Indiana” event presented by S&T Bank and by Downtown Indiana. Local restaurants will offer their best slices for sampling and participants will get to decide which pizzeria has the best slice.
Tonight’s event will benefit the ICCAP Power Pack program, which provides kids in need food for meals to get them through the weekend on a bi-weekly basis. George Basara with S&T Bank says that it fits in with their charitable initiatives.
The program served over 80,000 meals to 775 children in 12 Indiana County schools in the 2016-17 school year. Melanie Lazzari of S&T Bank said that the Power Pack program is great idea but funding it has been difficult, as it’s been run strictly on donations.
Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for children. They are on sale at S&T Locations in Indiana, Homer City, Blairsville and Saltsburg.
