There has been no official notice given, but APSCUF, the faculty union at the State System of Higher Education reported via Twitter last night that the Council of Trustees at Clarion University has withdrawn its letter of retrenchment.
Clarion was one of five universities to give the notice last spring. A letters of retrenchment is required for any university considering faculty layoffs. Four of the five universities have now withdrawn their letters, with only Cheyney University’s letter still in effect.
IUP was not one of the five considering possible layoffs.
