Paul Herbert Ruffner, 77, Clymer, died Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born in Home, PA on January 6, 1940, he was a son of the late Herbert D. Ruffner and Elizabeth M. (DeHaven) Ruffner.
He married Joyce Ellen (Hankinson) Ruffner on January 16, 1969. Together they spent 48 wonderful years together raising their family. He was a devoted husband and loving father who enjoyed “Big” Sunday Dinners with his family. He had a strong faith in God.
Paul attended the Punxsutawney Junior/Senior High School. He later worked 27 years for Barr Mine Repair as a Group Leader and Fabricator/Machinist. He enjoyed pike fishing, auto mechanics, carpentry and repairing things around the house. He also enjoyed birdwatching and drinking a good cup of coffee.
In addition to his wife, Joyce, Paul is survived by the following children: Mary Semsick & husband, Rodney, Pensacola, FL; Lainie Mano & husband, John, Clymer; Marty Borowitz & husband, Brian, Shelocta; Yvonne Evanick & husband, Ken, Rossiter; Carla Marie Deyarmin, Clymer; Brian Paul Ruffner & wife, Theresa, Indiana; Paula Sue (Ruffner) Hodak & fiancé, Scott Bennett, Cherry Tree; Michael Ruffner & wife, Lori, McIntyre; Paul Ruffner, Jr. & wife, Leona, Kent; and Robert Ruffner & wife, Stephanie, Brevard, NC.
Paul, with his wife, Joyce, also raised two grandchildren who were born to their late daughter, Patricia Pavlosky. They are: Bradley Shaffer & wife, Lisa of Clymer and Krissy Schleicher of Penn Run. Other survivors include his 35 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Ruffner and wife Madeline, Rochester, PA and sister, Doris Johnson, Clymer. Paul’s two surviving brother-in-laws are: James Hankinson & wife, Cathy of Creekside and Bob Hankinson & wife, Sandy of Penn Run. Paul will be sadly remembered by his loving cat, Baby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Pavlosky and brother, Ronald Ruffner.

Visitation will be held today, September 20th from 2 – 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Paul’s funeral service will be held Thursday morning at eleven o’clock at the funeral home. Pastor Tim Bash will officiate. Interment will be held in the Sample Run Cemetery, Clymer following cremation.
