This week is National Child Safety Seat Week and the State Police will hold free safety seat checks this week, including one in Indiana.
State troopers that are certified Child Passenger Safety technicians will conduct the tests at “fitting stations” across the state. Caregivers can get their seat checked for suitability and can receive instruction in the proper installation of car safety seats and make sure that kids are properly belted in.
The fitting station for Indiana will be on Thursday at the Indiana Fire Association substation on Indian Springs Road from 2-8 PM. Appointments are not required but requested. If you want to schedule an appointment, call Trooper Cliff Greenfield at 724-357-1998.
